Host Family Extras
Following are a few of the extra perks our host families receive when they host a student from our Summer Surf Program.
An awesome way to improve your Spanish speaking skills…
Share your home and your life with a new friend from Spain.
The Spanish students are here to improve their English language skills,
therefore, English must be the primary language spoken in the home.
Because we like to involve the American hosting students as much as possible, American hosting students will be invited to join the group for four full day excursions. All admissions will be paid by SDCH…
These four excursions include:
1) Spanish students choice of Disneyland or Magic Mountain, (host teen must attend same park); 2) Universal Studios;
3) LA City tour ( Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Rodepo Drive, Griffth Park Observatory);
4) LA beach tour (Malibu, Santa Monica,and Venice beach).
We will be using two air-conditioned coaches for each of the five excursions.
Extra family members welcome on # 3 & #4 tours, pending available space.
Host families will receive compensation for sharing meals with their student.
Daily transportation to activities will be provided.
Adult drivers who are able to commit to transporting students to and from the beach each weekday will be compensated on a per student basis.
Host families are allowed to host one Spanish student at a time.
Students must have their own bed.
Bedroom can be shared with a teen of the same sex.
Host families will also receive a free rebate voucher for $300 in groceries, plus a free rebate voucher for $300 in gas. This is a rebate voucher, not a cash card or a check. Voucher must be activated within 30 days and must be used within 12 months.
